From 1987 until a few years ago, I was on a quest to find a CD version of the 12" for The Cure's single "Catch". Because I managed to score a rare -- in the States, anyway -- CD version of the 12" for "Just Like Heaven," the next single off Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, I was convinced that there must be an equivalent for "Catch."
Thanks to the wonders of the internet, I realized a few years ago that my quest had been doomed from the start: no such CD existed.
Until now.
I have cashed in all my coolness chips, not mention my music budget for the month, to bring home the 4 CD box set of Cure B-sides and rarities. . . on the day of its release.
I'll console myself with something
cpratt's younger brother Tim -- the guy who took me to Gilman Street before punk broke -- said to me back in the early 90s when I admitted to still being a huge Cure fan.
"That's cool, dude. You're faithful."
