The Sound of Silence

On Valentine's Day I had the impulse to buy a heavily discounted box set of Simon and Garfunkel's albums. My mother got me their Greatest Hits as a Valentine's Day present when I was fourteen or so and she's coming here today, so it seemed appropriate.

And then I ran across this delightful story about Sonic Youth, one of my all-time favorites:
