Literary Therapy

I know people for whom Don DeLillo's Underworld would serve as the ideal self-help manual. But they would have to read it -- and in an introspective frame of mind -- for that to happen. Sadly, although there's a decent chance of the former condition being met, the latter one is a remote possibility at best.
