The awesome [livejournal.com profile] songsiheard just found out that she passed her grueling end-of-first-year exams and can now proceed with her ascent into the firmament. I actually applied to her graduate program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, but decided I didn't want to go there because the end-of-first-year-exam sounded too scary. And her description of it didn't make it sound any easier. But I was a lot more confident in her chances than I would have been in my own. Still, waiting for the news can't have been relaxing. I'm so happy that she can finally celebrate.
