I leave for Boston later this morning, a lot sooner than I'd like. I'll be missing home even more than usual, since we've been spending so much quality time together since Skylar's surgery. But it will be good for me to be intellectually stimulated in a place where the stress of everyday life feels lighter. In the meantime, though, I'm going to continue my practice of departing on a high note with pictures of my loved ones that make me particularly happy. Here's one from our Washington D.C. trip in July that shows Kim and Skylar enjoying a vacation interlude. Doesn't Kim's hair look fabulous?:
And here's one from the other day, when Bean started to show marked improvement in her post-operative condition:
I love the expression on her face as she stares intently into the lens and also the way that Kim's back to the camera signals the goodness of the hearth. I can almost smell the approach of pie season. Mmmmmmm.
