Aaron Rogers had it. Mike Pawlawski had it. Steve Bartkowski assuredly had it, though I was too young to appreciate his having it from afar. And, yes, even though we're supposed to despise his sex-and-flashbulbs lifestyle, Matt Leinart has it by the bushel. Joe Ayoob, on the other hand, is so far from having it that he's creating a flowchart with which to explain the paradoxical foundations of desire. When you can see one of the most talented offensive coaches in football, a master at making quarterbacks look better than they really are, thinking, "Maybe we can run the ball every single play," then it's time to find a new quarterback.
