I can't believe this. UCLA is shooting the ball the way Cal does on its worst days. They are presently 0 for 8 from the field over eight minutes into the game. Picking the Bruins to make the Final Four may not have been such a good idea after all. Of course, I won't find out the results of the contest until after my plane lands at LAX. I was really sad to miss this game, but maybe it won't turn out to have been such a loss. I suppose I can console myself with the knowledge that the winner will be my new tournament favorite regardless of whether it's UCLA or Gonzaga. Not that it's hopeless yet. The Bruins are only down eleven. Imagine what they could do if they make a basket. And they just did, just before the 11:00 mark. And another!

I love this photo of Bean. It's from our first camping trip in San Diego County, back in June 2001, when she was just two:

I think that may have been her first push-pop ever. Happy girl!
