While leafing through Highroads, the magazine of the Arizona chapter of AAA, I came across an item about the Tournament of Roses Parade that takes place each New Year's Day in Pasadena. I found the list of recent Grand Marshals fascinating:

I could spend days searching for common denominators or musing on the lack thereof. I'm especially interested in figuring out a logical explanation for when and why the Grand Marshal is dead or fictional.
