Hit the Ground Running

The Arcade Fire sounded great on Saturday Night Live just now. And that's apparently not easy to do, since many excellent bands have sounded lame in that artificial context. I was ill -- the throat abscess -- when they last played in Tucson. I really regret having missed them back then, since they may not be back here for a long time. The new album Neon Bible -- thank you hipsandquips! -- has really been growing on me too. It sounds a like Funeral, to my mind. But that's clearly not a bad thing. Seeing the music I've grown familiar with over the last two weeks come to life on stage has me excited to listen too the whole record in one sitting.
