For much of tonight's game, the Bears looked like the undermanned, overtired team that repeatedly faded during games in the second half of the conference season. But the improbable 34-2 run they had in the middle of the first half made their lapses before and after it irrelevant. It was nice to be reminded what Cal can do when they make three pointers. And nicer to see Ryan Anderson, who should be the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year for leading his team in scoring and rebounding while playing out of position, regain his sweet stroke for a while. If Hardin returns, Cal might make the NCAA's next year. I'll be waiting.
