Driving back to Seattle this afternoon, I felt a sudden need for coffee. But, given that I'd already crossed the Columbia, I wasn't sure what I'd find. Then I spied an exit that, though it had no visible indications of upward mobility -- all I could see from the road were fast food emporia -- cried out to me. I rapidly made my into the right lane and left the freeway. And what did I find? A recently-opened plaza with an even newer Peet's. While I realize that this indicates the further Starbucks-ification of that once-proud brand, I was happy to be able to get a decen caffé mocha and even happier to not have to say "venti." Better still, my psychic powers were confirmed.
