I just came back inside from an hour of mesquite trimming. I started with the hand saw. Then I switched to the pruning tool. Then I put branch after branch into the garbage can and resized them to fit -- no small feat -- with the loppers. Towards the end, I started to feel a cool breeze. I checked the temperature: 103 degrees. The funny thing is that I actually feel better now than I did before. I guess the endorphins take the edge off the heat madness that's been making me want to rip mammals large and small asunder.
