Epiphanies

I decided earlier today that I want to celebrate a second Christmas on January 6th. I like the idea of a special day independent of the giving and receiving of presents. Don't get me wrong. I love doing that. But rituals of togetherness that involve other forms of exchange are becoming increasingly appealing to me.

In other news, I was playing John Mellencamp's greatest hits on the drive down to Vaudeville a few hours ago and had a significant epiphany while listening to "I Need a Lover", the sunroof in New Silver -- the car with a functional one -- open to let in the cold.
