I am feeling dreadful right now. The heat and the weeks of medication seem to have caught up with both my stomach and spirit. But I was still cheered enormously by the way that former Cal star Leon Powe played for the Celtics tonight. And he picked the perfect night to slip into the limelight, since ABC ran a feature on his tortuous road to the NBA at halftime:
tommix, despite your brutal attack on my sports entries -- that I've written about Powe's story here before. I think it's super that it's finally getting play outside the Bay Area. I'm so pleased, in fact, that I'm able to repress the realization that I'm actually rooting for Celtics against the Lakers, a circumstance that my Magic Johnson-loving childhood self would never have imagined coming to pass.
Those of you who have been reading me for a long time may remember -- and I'm thinking of you
