The most important thing is to want it, whatever it is. That's the message that confronts me wherever I go. But what if what's wanting is the capacity to perceive that it, whatever it is, is out there in the world instead of deep inside. "After you get what you want, you don't want it," sings Marilyn Monroe. Doesn't that formulation express the same dilemma?
