Buzzed

I'm exploring Google's new social networking service Buzz. As I told a friend today, the most obvious advantage it holds is easy access to "fun" while still in one's Gmail browser. Beyond that, though, I am not sure how I will use it or if it will prove useful. The public aspect -- personal "open source"? -- makes me a little anxious, since Facebook still preserves the illusion of a closed network. But I am looking for a way to communicate more regularly with the tighter circle of friends that used to make Live Journal my go-to site. I still have a network here, but many of my favorite people have grown scarce in the past two years. Still, you can't beat the comment threading in these parts.
