A few minutes ago I had a mental flashback, briefly transporting me back six years to a time when going on vacation meant worrying about how I would make my daily Live Journal update in the absence of easy internet access. I'm not sure why I cared so much, but there were a few years in the mid-2000s when skipping a day felt like a major slip-up. I remember once, at the end of November in 2005, when I missed several days in a row due to a problem with our cable only to find, upon returning to the internet, that many people had written me to express their concern over my absence. My, how things have changed. I could probably go several weeks now without an update and only hear from two or three folks.
