Picture of the Moment

I've had some nice compliments on my photographs lately, as well as a request to show more of them. I'll try to do that. In the meantime, though, let me introduce you to my "Picture of the Moment" album -- once again on the sidebar to the right of my entries -- where I store all the pictures I've taken myself and then presented here on De File (as well as a few others, I should add). I don't blow my own bassoon very often, but I have to admit to feeling a surge of pride as I scrolled down through the photographs -- they're now arranged with the most recent at the top of the page, BTW -- a few minutes ago. There's a nice balance between family shots and the abstract compositions I am drawn to in my more reflective moments.

The guy that wrote the article about photography I just read must have seen your collection of POMs. He described your techniques -- candid shots (where you're not telling the subject you're taking their picture) and using alternative views (like the turtle's eye view) and varying focus. He also suggested combining posed/traditional shots with shots depicting inanimate objects and candid shots for a good, lively, body of work.

I really enjoyed looking at them (especially the new interiors on the Metro trains -- now they have red seats? Man, they were stuck in the 70s color scheme for so long!) -- thank you for posting the link.

acknowledging, affectionately

I've been meaning to say I like this page lots.
Though I want captions, I like it without them. For a variety of reasons I don't wanna type out.

:)
