Transferocious

I'm sitting in the Las Vegas airport, in the hideous C terminal Southwest uses. At least there's a Starbucks now. And I suppose there's something to be said for the fact that Las Vegas makes both my point of departure and my destination look really good. Free wireless, too. So that's something. Now I'm going to go look for a broom to sweep the cobwebs from my mind. It's be nice if there were miniature Totoros in there somewhere, but I doubt it.

oh, I feel for you!

I have never stayed in Vegas, only made flight connections there. I generally abhor loud noises and flashing lights, which keeps me off Vegas overall. The airport was enough. Worse yet, at the time I smoked, so I spent an hour crammed in a horrible, fetid glass cube with high-prole smokers from all over the country. *shudder*

:) Everyone should have a Totoro or two lurking in the back of their subconscious.

We were just there on Labor Day of all days and had similar thoughts -- did you see the weird "Oxygen Bar"? Every once in a while I get an idea to go to Vegas for some kind of Baudrillardian escapade, but then I remember: it sucks badly. Laura

Have you ever read Cobwebs from an Empty Skull? Your wording reminded me of the title. And are you a Bierce fan? I can't recall you ever mentioning him, but then, it was 20th Century American Lit.
