I usually try to make the relationship between my photographs -- or text entries, for that matter -- ambiguous and intriguing.
In this case, my prime motivation for taking the picture is that I was in Seattle during some gorgeous weather, but couldn't go see the mountain up close. There are weeks in winter and spring when you can't see it from the city. To have it there, so tantalizingly close on the horizon, but not be able to go for a drive that way was torture.
