Zippity Dada

When in existential or political doubt, the Zipster always salves my psyche:

Tocqueville sure got the mediocrity part right. As Penelope Houston sang in The Avengers, "It's the American in me/that makes me watch TV."

I went to this lecture/talk thing at the Hammer, a public conversation between Margaret Cho and Chuck D. Kind of strange and kind of like a rally in a foyer from MC at least, but Chuck D rather intrigued and impressed me at moments, quietly. Reflections of an older wiser actvist (still active) on his activism. Anyway, one thing he did say was a first step could be something simple--like turning off the damn television. Seems fitting here.
