It's raining, ever so lightly, on the song and on the driveway. I go outside, let the drops fall on my face, on the camera I'm trying to capture the lightning with. All you can do is guess. Thank goodness for my retro Weizen glass, the disc of lemon that makes me feel the wet.

I miss it too. And thunder. How come California has no thunder?

When I went home to Arizona last week I took pictures to bring home to California of the monsoon thunderstorm pouring (pouring!) off the roof over my parents' patio. Just so I'd remember to miss it I guess.

It's funny. That Doors' song "Riders on the Storm" takes on new meaning when you realize that L.A. has little thunder. The sound effect as gift.

sound effect as gift--I like that

So true about The Doors. And you've reminded me they're sadly underrepresented in my often sad music collection. A few choice downloads from before I started feeling guilty about downloads. Even though I was kind of addicted--to an idea as much as a sound effect--end of high school, early undergrad. There's a story here.

I know. I felt the same way when I was living through all those monotonously wonderful California summers. The monsoon is great.
