Then again, we're supposed to be the ones with something to say, right? But how am I supposed to have something to say if I can't even listen to the RNC and the speeches. I can't even read that many articles about it without wanting to crawl into a hole and hide until after the election.
I'm feeling a bit spoiled. I've never quite so consciously lived through an election that is so vicious, so much about the people and so little about the issues.
When I think about it, I worry that, after watching this election, the Canadian political parties will decide to follow suit and stop talking about the issues. The rest of the time, I worry even more that all of these tactics and nowhere-near-fine shaving of the truth will serve too many people better than the truth ever did. If that happens, then the Republicans have won and we are lost.
That's a good word for this: "ugliness". Thank you.
We're mostly doing okay. Tired, always tired, and always too much to do. Working full-time in corporate Amerika and trying to have a life as well as doing Bad Subjects can be overwhelming, even without the political crap-fest.
The Bad Subjects web stuff is eating up more and more of my free time. I worry that the site will be sent live as soon as the content is converted and no-one will worry about making sure that everything is working properly.
Other than that, we're picking up the pieces of our recently-separate lives and trying to knit them together again. That takes time and energy as well.
And on the other other side, I did manage to find time to come up with a bare outline of a novel, plus a completed prologue and first chapter. Now I just have to find some spaces where I can squeeze out the time to write the rest.
