Too Long, Too Short

I feel like my Bay Area trip has been both too long and too short. I'm tired and have a lot I need to do at home, so even a long weekend away feels excessive. The real reason it seems to have been too long, though, is that I've reached the point where it feels too short. I had a heavy dose of longtime friends and friendly acquaintances, which was great but now has me missing them all in advance. I love internet interactions of the sort that LJ promotes, but there's no substitute for being together with people you care about in a space you inhabit in body and mind. At least I'm bringing back music to remember them by.
