Coffee Rush

I've been doing one of my semi-annual purification rituals over the past two weeks. I avoid all caffeine, enduring vicious headaches, until I am finally "clean." And then I lapse into sin all over again. But that first cup of coffee is a revelation. Tonight I decided to break my fast as part of my L.A. trip. And the double latté more than met my expectations. The only problem is that, since I had it in the evening, I'm having a devil of a time going to sleep. Maybe I should read some Adorno to relax. . .

Eek, how ascetic.

I wondered about that when you called me at like 9:40 p.m. and said you just had your first coffee. I'd be up all night. Hope you got some sleep.

1) don't be a mormon, that's a bad idea, trust me
2) don't drink coffe in the evening!!!! coffee is a drug and must be treated with some caution, use it wisely. i am going to have a coffee now - 11am, then i am having my bath and when i come out i am going to tackle my cult studies homework - something about a blob, and something about enlightenment, and after that the coffee window should be more or less spent, but it is the daytime so any residual buzz will be a *good thing*. who knew, in the days of sex and drugs and rock and roll, that sometime later we would be discussing the finer points of caffine management?
