I can't believe my parents finally have a high-speed internet connection. I can actually do work in their house. What a difference that makes in my perception of the place. It feels far less claustrophobic now. Maybe I'll buy them a switch, so I can plug my laptop in. Anyway, I have a ton to say, but am far too tired to say it. Tomorrow I belatedly begin my third consecutive Cultural Studies Association conference, where I will see Jillian -- "Hooray!" -- and muse on all the good thoughts that reading Giorgio Agamben on the plane inspired. For now, though, my sister's one-time bedroom calls. I feel like Barry Newman after he has piloted that white Dodge Challenger across the Nevada line.

Jeesh, hope that dosn't mean they're spending all day reading blogs.

Since they still haven't figured out how to use their new computer, I seriously doubt it. Besides, it's in the room of many wonders, i.e. my old room.

Oh, permanent exception is such a coward's philosophy! Statist, crude, unreflexive.
I'm interested now in Agamben after reading about him on wikipedia.

Even if i ultimately must part ways with him, I find his writing unusually productive to read. It gets me thinking and thinking well. That means a lot.
