Film Tonight, The Loft, 7pm

War Tapes, which is a documentary compiled of footage shot by three soldiers serving in Iraq, will be opening tonight at The Loft. It looks really interesting and important, at least from the perspective of someone infected with the "documentary impulse." And one of those three soldiers will be present at the 7pm show and will participate in a Q&A afterwards, which will add a lot to the experience I'm sure. Anyway, I'm going and would love to see you there. Feel free to text me -- see my LJ info page -- if you want to coordinate.

I'd go if I were there! I'll look for it here in NC.

I wish you were here! It might not come there to a theater, but will probably be screened at one of the colleges in the Research Triangle.

Good point. I'll look for it here in our version of the Weekly. I also want to see that film Kim wrote about, Lower City. That looks great. I think J Miles and I may go see Wilco's leading man next week at the NC Art Museum. Hope so, anyway. I also have Calexico tix and Buckner's coming back to town. I'm starting to get out... Fun, but not the same. Still doesn't feel like my town. I'm working on it though. I'll keep you posted!

You better make that show with Miles! I'm glad you've settled in somewhat.
