If the Rapture is bound up with foreclosure, perhaps that is the case. It's eerie how little noise there is. Like that neighborhood from A Wrinkle in Time.
There are something on the order of 8 million empty houses in the US right now. Yet people can't "afford" to buy them. Market MY ASS. Supply and demand MY ASS! Why do we still have a homeless "problem" when we can afford to build houses whose only purpose is to rot on their foundations in the midst of a depression?
What is Boise like? I am obsessed with going to Boise. If I drove there right now, would you finally meet me for coffee or something? If I drove their with chard?
exactly. CONSPIRACY. This is a real thing though. Like, a real conspiracy for people to research exhaustively and have meetings at State Senator's Offices over.
I can sense that you are enduring tumultuous times by reading your lj. I am certainly not trying to guilt you into anything! I am just jealous that you are in Boise. But there's no reason for me not to be heading to Boise soon myself... I just bought a new (1993) car! And I am planning on driving some as the gas prices come down over the next few months as part of the oil companies very real pre-election conspiracy to try to get out the Republican Vote.
Boise looks like an amalgam -- to me anyway -- of the windswept ,grassy hills inland from the central coast and the tree-lined watercourses that you see driving laterally, on an east-west axis, through a county like Marin or Sonoma. There are sagebrushy patches, too, which sometimes make it look more like the above-the-frost-line high desert of eastern Washington or northern Nevada, in other words, what it actually is. But I must be homesick for California, because that's what I keep seeing.
There is a beautiful river area right in the middle of town, more "natural" looking than any river I've seen in a city this size. And there is apparently a pretty excellent movie theater, Flicks, a lot like The Loft.

Why are the conspiracy theorists not ALL OVER THIS? This may be the BIGGEST CONSPIRACY IN HISTORY (at least in terms of wealth transfer).
Why are the suburbanites who are being kicked piecemeal (sp?) out of their homes not banding together

Seriously, these are times of intense tumult in my life. I very much want to have coffee with you. And chard. But my schedule has been wacky.
